How can art and design practices support environmental regeneration and circular economies rooted in local communities?

This strand explores how local practices related to textile production and community food growing can be supported and scaled to contribute to national sustainability goals. Partnering with communities and industry, researchers co-create alternative models of production and consumption based on peer-to-peer skills-sharing and collaboration.

Policy guidelines and toolkits developed through the research will place citizen engagement at the centre of climate adaptation, aligning with the Horizon Europe Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change, the Green Growth Strategy for NI, and Ireland's Climate Action Plan 2024.
